Copper Hill Church Thanks East Granby Firefighters
As a way of saying “thank you,” Copper Hill UMC hosted their annual dinner for forty members of the East Granby Fire Department.
We saw several old familiar faces and some young new faces, as well as more female fire fighters. Three years ago there were only one or two; this year there were at least five .
The menu included roast beef, complemented by homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, rolls, and bean salad. As usual, the homemade apple pie was a hit! The firefighters thanked us with a resounding round of applause and two bouquets of longstemmed roses.
Thirteen of the congregation greeted guests, served the meal, waited on tables, dished up seconds, washed dishes, and cleared up afterwards. As everyone carried out their job with laughter and comraderie, it all came together like clockwork. After the firefighters had gone, we shared fellowship around the tables while we ate.
We welcome you to join the fun in our future projects, as many hands make the work light.
