“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (Jesus’ words from John 8:32).
Our country is much in need of prayer, this year more than ever! You can be a part of a massive, unified prayer effort as we gather across our nation on Thursday, May 6 for the 70th annual National Day of Prayer. Some will meet in parks, at town halls, in churches, or online. Here at Copper Hill, we will meet at church at 7:00 PM (continuing our social distancing practices). Many will join us online on Zoom as well.
This year our theme is “Lord, pour out Your LOVE, LIFE, and LIBERTY.”
Our theme verse is: “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
We long to see God’s Spirit stir each of our hearts to know Him better and to share with others the true freedom that comes from knowing Christ Jesus as Lord of our lives. This will overflow into our daily lives as we pray for our families, churches, educational systems, government, and more.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance declared by a law signed by President Truman in 1952. In 1988, President Reagan amended the law to make it the first Thursday in May. Let us use our God-given freedom to assemble together in prayer as we seek His direction and healing.
