Watch the service
Christ’s second coming and his promise of resurrection are our future hope.
This week Pastor Kelvin completed the message series “Hope is Here” with a discussion of our “Future Hope.” We were reminded that salvation has three tenses. In the past, Jesus died for our salvation and as we trust in him, our past sins are forgiven. In the present, the Holy Spirit guides us and reminds us that Jesus is always with us giving us hope and an expectation that God is at work in each new day. Our future hope is in the promise of Jesus’ return for his own and all that will happen when that occurs. We will see Jesus! Our salvation will reach it’s intended climax as we receive resurrected bodies and become like Jesus. We will be reunited with others who love Jesus. And we will be rewarded for good deeds. Such a hope causes us to live with an eye to that great event, living holy lives because we remember that we will be accountable before God.
World Communion Sunday
Copper Hill also celebrated World Communion Sunday by sharing in communion at the close of the service. Pastor Kelvin is still encouraging those who are watching from home on Zoom or Facebook Live to participate as well. As a point of information, our communion stewards have switched to gluten-free bread to make it easier for those who require that.
