Jesus says “I AM” series continues

Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12). What did he mean by that? It’s not to hard to say that we live in a dark world. Yet we realize also that to just point fingers at others ignores the potential for evil in all of us. Most of us have had times in our lives when our attachment to our own faults and sins has blinded us to the real issues. As Jesus said, “Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going” (John 12:35). This week Pastor Kelvin talked about how Jesus is our Light. Jesus came into the world “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14) to enlighten us with truth about God. Because of him we have the “light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (2 Cor. 4:6). He also came to relieve the dark burdens of our guilt by offering us forgiveness and joy. He became for us the perfect example of righteousness, goodness, purity, compassion and mercy. No wonder Jesus is our Light. We say with the Psalmist, “In your light we see light” (Psalm 36:9).
