Scripture prayers for you
We promised as one of the initiatives of Copper Hill Church’s Action Plan for COVID-19 that we would be providing Prayer Resources to encourage and comfort folks during the stresses of this virus induced emergency. JoAnne has been at work crafting Scripture prayers for our comfort. These prayers stick very close to the text of Scripture. The intent is to help us shape our prayers using Scripture as a guide. How powerful it is to pray God’s Word back to God both for the comfort of our own souls and as it adds energy and synergy to our intercessions.

Prayers for Comfort
Lord, because I trust in You, thank you for making my mind steadfast and strengthened. Thank You for keeping me in perfect, complete peace. I will trust You forever, my Rock eternal (Isaiah 26:3,4).
I come to You, Jesus, weary and burdened, asking You to give me rest. I take Your yoke upon me to learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart. Thank You that here I can find rest for my soul (Matt. 11:28, 29).
In the day of trouble I will call to You, for You will answer me (Psalm 86:7).
As I dwell in the shelter of the Most High, I will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. You, Lord, are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Surely You will save me from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence (Psalm 91:1-3).
Thank You, God, that when anxiety is great within me, Your consolation brings joy to my soul (Ps. 94:19).
I praise You, Lord, who counsels me even at night. I have set You always before me. Because You are at my right hand, I will not be shaken (Ps. 16:1).
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting (Ps. 139:23, 24).
I cast all my anxiety on You, because You care for me (1 Peter 5:7).
I find great comfort, Lord, in Your words: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you…For I am the Lord, your God.” Yes, You are my God, and I am so grateful! (Isaiah 43:1-3).
I will not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I will present my requests to You, God. Thank You for Your peace which transcends all understanding, that will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
Thank You, God, for Your promise: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
We are grateful for the strength You give to Your people; You bless us with peace (Ps. 29:11).
