Youth lead the service
Watch the service
Teens and children at Copper Hill Church conducted the service this past Sunday. They lead the annual “Hanging of the Greens” event, a Copper Hill Advent tradition for telling the Christmas story. Griffin Mandirola led prayers and Christmas carols while all the older children and teens shared readings. Even the youngest, Jake and Luke Oliver, helped bring in the greenery, the bells and the beautiful ceramic manger scene figures that were donated long ago by Caroline Kimberley. Morgan and Malia Gabbidon provided special music. Each year Pastor Kelvin gives a short meditation using one of the manger scene figures as an illustration. This year, in keeping with our exploration of the names of Jesus, Pastor Jones picked up one of the shepherds from the scene and reminded us that Jesus is our Good Shepherd. Afterwards, we enjoyed coffee hour.
Preparations for Christmas Eve service
Men’s trio and ladies’ choir group are practicing for Christmas Eve service to be held at 5 PM on Christmas Eve. After a year’s hiatus, we are really looking forward to this most popular service of the year. JoAnne Jones will also be playing two harp pieces for this service. Pastor’ message will be on “Jesus, Our Light.”
