Those who follow Jesus develop sacrificial love
Watch the service
This week Pastor Kelvin continued to develop the series of messages, “Practical Strategies for Living our Faith.” We discovered that being truly Christian means that we develop a love for God and others like Jesus had, a love that is so strong that it can become self-sacrificing when needed. Jesus taught that those who would follow him would be characterized by self-denial (Matt. 16:24,25). Pastor Jones helped us to understand that being a Christian requires wholeheartedness. Then our lives can be continually transformed into the likeness of Jesus. Making up our minds to be “all in” for Jesus also makes it possible for us to more accurately “discern what is best” (Rom 12:2; Phil. 1:10). Pastor Kelvin challenged us with a quote from nationally known pastor, Rick Warren.
The mature follower of Jesus stops asking, “Who’s going to meet my needs?” And starts asking, “Whose needs can I meet? Do you ever ask that question?

Communion shared
The congregation shared in communion using the COVID-appropriate means of prepared communion packets. Those who listen online continue to be invited to partake as well, using elements they provide for themselves. We believe that God extends blessing to them also as the pastor blesses the in-person congregation.
