May 4 in Granby at 4 PM and East Granby at 7 PM
Each year in every town in Connecticut there are events marking the National Day of Prayer. Governor Ned Lamont has issued a Proclamation affirming May 4, 2023 as a Day of Prayer for the State of Connecticut. This proclamation will be read by Eden Wimpfheimer, Firstselectwoman of East Granby Township at the 7 PM National Day of Prayer Service at Copper Hill Church. This year’s service will feature readers of all ages and prayers for our state and nation. The event is free and open to the public. The observance has been planned by local prayer leader, JoAnne Jones and will be led by Pastor Kelvin Jones. Our efforts are also in keeping with St. Paul’s admonition from our current Bible study:
Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
Ephesians 6:18
In addition we are cooperating with Life Church New England of Granby who are sponsoring the National Day of Prayer event for the town of Granby. It will be held at the Granby library flag pole at 4 PM also on May 4. This is an inspiring opportunity to pray onsite at the seat of government for Granby and practice our faith outside the walls of our churches through this time of prayer.
